Visitor Services

Visitor Services is our frontline welcoming staff for the Montana Heritage Commission, Virginia City and Nevada City. Our goal is to assist our visitors with meeting his or her needs while making their visit as memorable as possible.

#12 train and visitors

The four main areas that Visitor Services staff throughout the summer season are: Virginia City Depot Visitors Information, Center, Virginia City Depot Gift Store, Nevada City Open Air Museum, and the Alder Gulch Shortline Railroad. C. A. Bovey No.8 and Baldwin No.12 Steam Locomotive tourist trains. We also support each of the other departments of the Montana Heritage Commission through logistics and participation in events for the Alder Gulch area.

Throughout the year, we are dedicated to providing information, education and a smile to greet you upon your arrival.
